No matter how great deal it sound on the board of yor local post office the Currency rate would never be better then the Currency rate in Turkey.

Of Course you can shop with your own currency, English Sterling or Euro. Simply ask your bank to provide you with clean, undamaged small bank notes. Please bare in mind that Scottish Notes are not recognized.

Do not exchange GBP to Euros then exchange from euros to turkish lira as you will be losing out on two lots of exchange.

Probably the best place to exchange your currency is the exchange offices, just make sure they will not charge you any commision by mistake.

Addition to the Post Office , there are currently 5 different bank branches and their ATM's in Datca Town

Banks do also provide currency service, however they usually can't compete with the highstreet exchange offices and not worth the que. Travel Cheuqes are welcome at Banks and Post office. There is usually a high exchange surcharges.

There is a Central Post Office within the Town of Datca where you can send and receive money to/from abroad, buy telephone cards, obviously posting parcels as well as letters.
