IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW :
While often portrayed in photographs as gleaming white basins filled with bright turquoise water, the terraces’ appearance varies throughout the year due to seasonal conditions and water management. Visitors should be prepared for the possibility of grey or dry sections, which may differ from the idealised images. While Pamukkale’s terraces are visually striking, their condition can vary. The real treasure of the site is the ancient city of Hierapolis, with its remarkably preserved ruins and sweeping views across the valley.

• Hierapolis Ancient Theatre: A grand Roman theatre with seating for over 12,000 spectators, exceptionally well-preserved and still showcasing intricate stage reliefs.
• The Necropolis: Stretching over 2 km, this is one of the largest ancient cemeteries in Anatolia, featuring hundreds of sarcophagi and tombs.
• Roman Baths & Basilica: A reminder of the city’s role as a healing centre in antiquity.
• The Travertine Terraces: The shimmering white cascades remain the main visual attraction, and certain areas are open for walking barefoot to experience the warm thermal waters firsthand.
• Antique Pool (Cleopatra’s Pool): A thermal pool where visitors can swim among submerged Roman columns, said to have been toppled by an earthquake in the 7th century.
