Probably the best time for shopping as it does boils during day hours.

It is set in an idyllic location being surrounded by picturesque Hills, ancient tombs, overlooking one of the beautiful scenery of the Mediterranean.

Dalyan is a small River Town

Despite being a small town, it does have all the necessary shopping facilities such as supermarkets, pharmacies, Dentists and other Health departments, Banks and post office. Literally, everything one would be needing is available in Dalyan.

Shops in Dalyan are displaying their fake designer bags and clothing shops until late in the night. Needless to say that there are many souvenier shops as well in Dalyan.

Dalyan, as a Tranquil and diverse Town, there is always something going on in Dalyan. Nightlife is pleasant and has the look of upmarket style with affordable price lists attached to it.

There are many foreign nationals from Europe settled here mainly from the UK, Germany and Holland and called Dalyan their second home. Obviously the real estate business has been rather very busy, which one must approach very carefully in my oppinion to avoid becoming a statistic.

There are many places in Dalyan to relax and have a drink with stunning views of the Ancient Rock Tombs and a tranquil ambience all day long.

Wining and Dining in the Restaurants of Dalyan is rather a joy, their cuisine is international as well as local.

All restaurants have a Board at their entrance showing the freshly prepared menu of the day including Pricelist. There are plenty of fish dishes available to choose from. Seafood is always eaten fresh in Dalyan. To avoid any disappointment, negotiate the price first before ordering your seafood dish.

Coming with Children to Dalyan

Having a Holiday with Children in Dalyan is super safe.

Plenty to do other than staying around the swimming pool all day, which is nothing wrong with that. Depending on how old your children are, you can join many excursions and sightseeing tours in the area. Most excursions are family-friendly and have plenty of space for your buggies in the boats and vehicles, so you won't be alienated from the rest of the world.

There are several spacious parks where little kids can play whilst parents are sipping their drinks. I have always avoided alcohol when holidaying with my children to be on the safe side.

Rowing boat services are available to take you to the other side of the canal, which kids find a terrific experience.The Village across the Canal is called Candir. You can have a nice walk all the way to the ancient city of Kaunos, which will take you about half an hour to an hour to reach with a slow paste. Remember to pack your back-bag with essentials, e.g. Water and snacks.

During your walk to the Caunos ancient city, you can make it more interesting by pointing out the difference between the plantation and the wildlife where tortoises and lizards are usually seen regularly.

Don't worry about finding food and Water. There will always be a shop or shop-a-like places which sell food or beverage; even if there aren't any, don't hesitate to ask locals as they will be more than happy to provide whatever you need for your children.

Obviously, The famous Iztuzu Beach, known as Turtle Beach, is probably one of the highlights of your Holiday in Dalyan, provided your children like Sea and Sand.

You can reach this lovely beach by getting into shuttle boats, which leave every half an hour; a return ticket can be purchased on the boat. These Boats are along the canal, they are easy to spot, have big boards, with a sign clearly written on them. Alternatively, shuttle busses leave every hour from the centre of Dalyan, again you can't miss them.

The most favourite trip is undoubtedly the 12 island Boat Trip; that is a fabulous trip. This trip makes everyone pleasantly tired, especially kids who will not hesitate to go to sleep straight after dinner so that you can have a lovely quiet evening. It works every time, as the combination of breeze, sea, sun and lots of swimming makes any grown-up tired, let alone little kids. The only thing with that trip is; you need to be ready to be picked up by the travel agency very early, like nine am.
